Why Your Strategist Can't Execute (And Your Creator Can't Strategise)

FlintPop Editorial · 30 May 2026 · 8 min

Most businesses buy strategy and production from two different worlds. The strategist arrives with frameworks, positioning maps, and a beautifully argued deck. The creator arrives with a camera, an edit suite, and a strong sense of what performs.

Neither is wrong. But the handoff between them is where value leaks. Strategy that never survives contact with a shot list is theatre. Production without a thesis is decoration.

A brilliant strategy delivered as a PDF is a bill, not an asset.

We treat the two as one workflow. The person who defines the message stays in the room when it is filmed, cut, and shipped. The feedback from performance data returns to the positioning, not just to the caption.

In practice this looks unglamorous: shared briefs, one owner of the narrative, and a refusal to sign off on content that cannot be traced back to a strategic claim.

The result is that the strategy compounds instead of expiring the moment the deck is emailed.
